Can the problems of the demonstrations be solved through design?

After months of effort, we could say that the answer was Yes.

Manify is a phygital project before there was talk of phygital, a controversial social design, a discussion that lives on in the form of a design project.

The origin of Manify

Manify arose from a real need, when the hurricane of events was happening due to the demonstrations of the trials of the Catalan Process.

Demonstrations were leading to blockades of public transport and the Barcelona airport, episodes of violence in the streets, burning and destruction of public space.

Framing: what would happen if...?

Kees Dorst’ Frame Innovation was the method needed to address such a dynamic, interconnected, and broad social problem.

After the in-depth research process, we discovered that stakeholders’ concerns revolved around 3 themes: Economy, Order and Image.

In this way, we came up with 3 Frames, perspectives from which, if we look at the problem, we arrive at solutions that otherwise would have been impossible to find.

After the in-depth research process, we discovered that stakeholders’ concerns revolved around 3 themes: Economy, Order and Image.

What would happen if the problem is approached as if it were a gossip show? And a concert? And a fashion store?

Phygital solution for a new type of demonstrations

Manify sits in the middle of the conversation between protesters, those affected and the environment, as an enabler.

Its role is to give stakeholders a voice, a vote, local representation, diversify its impact, increase its reach, and improve clarity of information.

It is a real no-code app efficiently built through Glide and with its databases in Google Slides. Feel free to try it out by scanning the QR code below or by clicking here

The city dresses up in color with Manify

Manify is a commitment to clearer, more public and truthful information. Therefore, it collects past, present and future manifestations, allowing the user to discover new causes.

Depending on the number of participants, different elements of the public space are made available to the demonstration.

Wouldn’t it be fairer if the impact were proportional to participation?

Blinded by the lights

Wouldn’t it be beautiful to paint the city in color?

If users open the app and raise their phone, it will glow the color they represent in the demonstration.

This, together with the possibility of configuring the lights of the public space, gives users the possibility of manifesting their presence.

Let's Manify!

Every element of the city becomes a point of contact with the demonstration, an open conversation, an opinion that is shared and respected.
